While the Genesis Saga has yet to kick off in Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog series, the cover for the second part of the arc has been revealed! The mini-series will kick off with issue 225, check out the cover here, followed by part one with issue 226 and part two in issue 227. The four part arc, continuing in issues 228 and 229, looks to be paying homage to the four original Genesis games. However how Sonic and friends enter those classics has yet to be revealed. All that has been said is that somebody's life (probably a SatAM character) depends on the outcome of the Genesis arc. I could care less who dies, as long as we're getting more awesome artwork from Spaz!
After the beak, check out a preview page from Sonic: Genesis!

I might actually pick these issues up, haven't bought the comic since about 2001. Not that I think it was rubbish or anything, just that it didn't really grab me much and and lot of the extra arcs and characters went miles over my head, having not been reading from day one.
Yeah, I'm planning on starting up a subscription next month for the next 12 issues. I believe there is an international service on the Archie website, unless you have other methods. :)
It seems that once a year theres a worthwhile issue, like an adaptation of a Game Gear game (last year they did Tails Adventure) or a nod to the Genesis games (two years ago they did a Sonic X issue in which Sonic gets trapped in a Genesis game).
Sounds like they might start implementing more game universe stuff. Perhaps the plan is to drop Knothole and make the Freedom Fighters home be South Island.
